In 2005, the NBF was incorporated as a non-profit company and has operated from South Africa since then as the NEPAD Business Foundation. In 2010, the NEPAD Business Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the newly mandated NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency to canvass the support of the private sector in the implementation of NEPAD programmes. This agreement cemented critical ties with public sector in Africa, building on already successful programmes for continental cooperation under CAADP and PIDA.
