Konica Minolta South Africa comes to the rescue...

Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, has played an instrumental role in the opening of Johannesburg’s newest printing business, Eunique Printing, helping Dobsonville Gardens resident, Eunice Ngwenya to set up a level 1 B-BBEE copy shop that employs three people.

Eunique Printing offers printing services, including comb and glue binding, creasing, perforating, punching, cutting, folding, silkscreen printing and much more.

With a view to fulfilling its supplier and enterprise development requirements while at the same time freeing up internal resources, Konica Minolta South Africa approached Printing South Africa, requesting a list of potential entrepreneurs trained by the association in both printing and silkscreen printing.

“Of the three candidates interviewed, we decided to partner with Eunice Ngwenya; not only had she excelled in the silkscreen training, she had also already used this skill to establish a small, informal business within her area. Eunice was eager to learn more and to expand her existing setup into a fully fledged business,” explains Laetitia Coetzer, special projects manager at Konica Minolta South Africa.

And so, Eunique Printing was born. The new company purchased two production machines from Konica Minolta South Africa, one colour and one black & white, while the organisation also assisted in setting up the copy shop with the offline finishers required to deliver an array of printing services. Furthermore, a number of Konica Minolta South Africa employees helped Eunique to correctly specify equipment needed for the shop, as well as providing training in graphic design and print run management. Konica Minolta South Africa’s Johannesburg branch was involved in the installation of Eunique Printing’s equipment and will also be handling its servicing.

As a new entrepreneur, we have enrolled Eunice on a 12 month learnership, ‘Management for Entrepreneurs NQF3’,” Coetzer continues. “We are currently in the process of setting up a stock control, quote and invoice system using Cloud Register, that is provided and supported by Fine Print, and hope to have this up and running soon.
