More information about the above.
The SAB Foundation is an independent trust founded to benefit historically disadvantaged individuals and communities, primarily but not exclusively, through entrepreneurial development in South Africa.
It contributes to the development of a culture of entrepreneurship by supporting the growth of a critical mass of small and medium enterprises (SMEs); developing entrepreneurial role models; and stimulating and rewarding innovation. The SAB Foundation is focused on igniting a culture of entrepreneurship in South Africa with a focus on women, the youth, persons with disability and persons in rural areas.
The SAB Foundation holds 8, 4-million SAB Ltd shares and applies the dividend income received from these shares for the benefit of the wider South African community.
It was founded in 2009 as part of The South African Breweries (SAB) broad based black economic empowerment transaction called SAB Zenzele. While the transaction term of SAB Zenzele is ten years, The SAB Foundation will continue its existence indefinitely—becoming an evergreen contributor to community development.
