Committed to B-BBEE

South Africa’s long-term success requires that those who were previously disadvantaged receive ample and equal opportunity to grow and advance.

Liquid Telecom is designated as a proud level 3 contributor to B-BBEE. We are committed to the principles of Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment. To this end, we are aligned to the ICT Sector code in terms of section 9 of the B-BBEE Act 53 of 2003.

Learnership

Our comprehensive commitment to B-BBEE is proven by end-to end B-BBEE initiatives across all the elements of the B-BBEE scorecard. A pioneer in Socio-Economic Development, Liquid Telecom was the first to offer a Telecommunications Systems NQF level 5 Learnership in South Africa. In recent years learnership programmes have taken centre stage. We have employed over 85% of the graduates while the majority of the remaining percent have found employment in the industry.

Our procurement policy follows B-BBEE guidelines and we practice preferential procurement wherever possible.

Enterprise Development

Our Enterprise Development Programme inspires young South African SME entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses. We support SMMEs to become resellers of our Small Enterprise and Retail products. In addition, we provide support to contractors within our supply chain assisting them to improve, develop, and grow their businesses.

Favorable Payment Terms Policy for Black Owned SMMEs

In terms of the Code 500 of the ICT Sector code, we implement favourable payment terms for the following classes of suppliers:

1. Black owned businesses

2. Black empowered businesses

3. Black engendered businesses
